PhysioKinect was founded by Christina Alessi. Christina has over twenty years of experience working as a Physical Therapist in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a graduate of the University of California San Francisco’s graduate program in Physical Therapy, one of the top ranked public programs in the nation. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from the University of California at Davis. Her professional career has included staff and leadership positions in small, independent clinics, hospitals and large public companies.
Christina is an orthopedic, manual Physical Therapist whose treatment philosophy is centered around educating and empowering individuals. Her goal is to give her patients the tools they need to self treat and manage their condition independently while minimizing time spent away from the activities they enjoy. As a movement specialist, Christina is passionate not only about rehabilitation after injury, but also helping individuals optimize their body’s performance and function.
With a lifelong passion for learning, Christina has taken nearly one thousand hours of continuing education to enhance her skills as a clinician and stay abreast of the latest developments in physical therapy including sports specific rehab and nutrition. Christina is one of a select few Physical Therapists in the Bay Area who is certified by the McKenzie Institute® in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT). MDT is an internationally acclaimed method of assessment and treatment that encourages active patient involvement in the treatment of spinal and extremity pain that is trusted and used by clinicians throughout the world. Christina is also certified in Myofascial Decompression Techniques (MFD) and Negative Pressure Soft Tissue Mobilization (cup therapy). MFD therapy provides increased efficiency of motion through fascial flexibility and neuromuscular re-education. Christina was also one of the first Physical Therapists in the Bay Area to be certified in the Strengthen your Game for Golf program which has helped numerous golf enthusiasts improve their game through individualized strength training and conditioning programs.
